Cross Country is certainly not an easy sport, because if it were easy, everyone would do it. A runner should run at least 25 miles every week, and a race requires that you get up at 6:00 on Saturday. The race for cross country is a 5K, which is 3.1 miles. There are also other commitments, to where drinking soda and eating junk food are not suggested. At the end of the season is really where you find out if your dedication payed off. The girls cross country team placed 11th at State, improving from 24th last year. The guy cross country team placed 12th at Districts but that was not good enough to be able to move on to regionals. |
